Beware,beware
Keith Binns
June, July 2018
Beware, beware of the greedy rich
Their need for wealth is endless
They have no turn off switch
The idea of “enough” is something they can’t understand.
They will not be satisfied till the whole world’s in their hand
Beware, beware of their lust for power
Their need to control everything every day and every hour
They use the same old methods as greedies always will.
It’s happened many times before and it is happening still.
They oppose the freedom of the press, scapegoat minorities,
Cut the funds to watch dogs, trash the judiciary.
When you see this happening you know they’re on their way
To them having more, controlling more, year by year and day by day.
Beware, beware, beware, beware,
Beware, beware, beware, beware,
Beware, beware, they hate scrutiny
They must be free to accumulate with nobody to see
They cut the funds to watch dogs, say judges get it wrong
The only scrutiny they like is one that sings their song
So oppose the freedom of the press, sell off the ABC
Lock up the whistle blowers, none are allowed to see
The way they rig the system, the way they gouge and steal
No royal commission or ICAC will bring them all to heel.
Beware, beware, Beware, beware,
Beware, beware, Beware, beware,
Beware, beware of the greedy rich
As long as they’re in luxury, you can live in a ditch
Any smokescreen’s good enough to hide the glaring fact
Their money’s hidden overseas so they don’t pay much tax.
So let’s all fear the Muslims, let’s fear the refugee
Teach us that they’re not people, they’re not like you and me.
Pass some more oppressive laws, protection is their role.
Any excuse will do to turn the screw and give the greedy more control
Beware, beware of the greedy rich
Their need for wealth is endless
They have no turn off switch
So cast your vote with care next time, cos you must understand
They will not be satisfied till the whole world’s in their hand
They will not be satisfied till the whole world’s in their hand
Beware, beware, Beware, beware,
Beware, beware, Beware, beware,

God save the queen 12/5/14 Keith Binns
1. God save the foreigner, who ruleth over us. God save the Queen.
Though she’s not one of us we have to make a fuss.
How long to rule over us? God save the Queen.
2. Half of the folk down here don’t come from over there. What do they care?
And all the ones who did, convict or paid ten quid
Their Aussie kids must sing God save the Queen.
3. We all admire the Queen, best that there’s ever been, lived through the war.
But she’s not dinky di, wattle doesn’t make her cry
How long ’till we say goodbye, like India did?
4. Aren’t we grown up enough to have one born of us our head of state?
But still Australia clings to Britain’s apron strings,
While going to war when the president rings. God save the Queen.
Going to war when the president rings. Will it be China next?

Australian Farewell

Australian Farewell Feb 2020
1. Australia way where some churches hates gays
And the fires burn brightly on the mountain top
I took a trip on a Qantas ship
and when I reached Australia I made a stop
Chorus
Now I’m sad to say I’m on my way
Cos Global Warming’s here to stay
It’s getting too hot, their Human Rights are shot
A Banana Republic is what they’ve got.
2. The fires burn and our stomachs churn
But the PM says that’s normality
Always like this or it’s arsonists
And there’s no Climate Emergency
3. The AFP raid the ABC
And the judges say that’s all right by me.
We’ll prosecute, put in the boot
Cos whistle blowers have no security
4. A great big rort to do with sport
And the Right have bought an election win
Democracy no more you’ll see
And that’s the sort of state they want the country in
5. A nasty germ and so they learn
everything the scientists have to say
In a trice they take their advice
Unlike how they act every other day.
So I’m sad to say I’m on my way,
Taking off this very day
My flight I’ve boarded, excess baggage I’ve afforded
Taking all the toilet paper that I’ve hoarded.
Now I’m sad to say I’m on my way
Cos Global Warming’s here to stay
It’s getting too hot, their Human Rights are shot
A Banana Republic is what they’ve got.

18 Months
01:29
|

1. When Covid came we were told not to fear
Because a vaccine soon would be here
Because we were at the front of the queue
We thought that the Government knew what to do.
You wait eighteen months and what do you get?
Another day in lockdown and deeper in debt
Creditors don’t you call me, ‘cos I can’t pay
‘Cos I’ve been stuck in lockdown all day
2. In six months Biden showed what competence meant
From zero vaccinated to fifty percent
While here it’s almost no-one who’s had the jab
So we’re locked down it really is bad
You wait eighteen months and Morrison hid
While you’re stuck at home teaching a kid
And we’ve got no vaccine, it’s easy to see
He couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery
You wait eighteen months but he won’t take the blame
“It’s not my fault” is his only game.
“It’s the States, it’s the migrants” but tell him he’s dreamin’
It’s his bloody fault that we’re not vaccinin’.

Government Song

Government Song
January 2022 Keith Binns
You can't write a song about the government, the government, the government
You can't write a song about the government
Because you'd have to swear
1We've a government down in Canberra
They're really rather bad
Cruel, corrupt, incompetent
They're the worst we've ever had.
You can't write a song about the government
'Cos it could not be clean
'Cos to accurately describe them
You'd have to be obscene.
You can't write a song about the government, the government, the government
You can't write a song about the government
Because you'd have to swear
3 They're cruel to the refugees
Keep kids locked up for votes
Scott's biggest boast as minister
Was that he stopped the boats
They lock them up forever
Although they've done no wrong.
These sanguinary rectums
Just are not worth a song.
You can't write a song about the government, the government, the government
You can't write a song about the government
Because you'd have to swear
5Porkbarrelling's a way of life
Sports rorts and parking lots
Hurt the poor with Robodebt
They're for the haves not the have nots
Won't act on Global Warming
So their mates can make a buck
Trashing the future of our children
They do not give a
You can't write a song about the government, the government, the government
You can't write a song about the government
Because you'd have to swear
7They couldn't organise a piss-up
In a brewery
Totally failed on quarantine
And getting the vaccine.
Didn't order Covid tests
It makes you rather glum
To know our noble leaders
Are all Richard craniums.
You can't write a song about the government, the government, the government
You can't write a song about the government
Because you'd have to swear
9The worst are the moderate Liberals
They say they're not to blame
But when those bells start ringing
They all vote just the same.
So roll on the election
And vote the mongrels out
These hypocrite so called Christians
Take the trough from around their snout.
Cruel, corrupt, incompetent
They're just not in the hunt
And I'll have to leave it there because
I can't find a rhyme for "hunt".
You can't write a song about the government, the government, the government
You can't write a song about the government
Because you'd have to swear

The Prime Minister

The Prime Minister 24/2/2022
I am a prime minister Scott Morrison by name
I have sold my soul for power and a pocket full of dollars
Like my promises, they're lies and jests
But a man hears what he wants to hear and
Disregards the rest
When I first entered Parliament
I said "I'm a Christian man. I will treat all people well, do to others as I'd like them to do to me"
But I lied, for I am cruel to refugees and some of them have died
So the far right voters know I'm on their side.
Yes I lied, lie l lie l lie l lie lie yes I lied
Lie theetc
Looking only for a fair go I have tried to do my job, but I just can't do it.
The job it is beyond me, that is obvious.
I lack the smarts. And working for the greater good is not one of my arts.
I can only work for those with greedy hearts.
So now I'm on the campaign trail and rather desperate.
Things look bad and the photo opportunities get sillier. Please like me. I'm a daggy dad.
On the hustings stands a PM but a marketer by trade
And he carries the reminder of every poll that laid him down or cut till he cried out "I'm feeling so bereft"
For his lies and his incompetence
are all that he has left.

Referendum Song
Keith Binns Oct/Nov 2023
We’ve just had a referendum for an indigenous Voice
A simple Yes or No, it was a free choice
We’re sad to relate, Australia said No
Now we’re wondering which way Australia will go
Will we be ruled by a strong man in a few years time
Will protesting that ruler be a serious crime?
Is democracy a thing we'll have to say goodbye to?
Two thirds of the country are happy to be lied to.
The No case was purely mirrors and smoke
With leaders who lied every time that they spoke.
Have we started sliding down a slippery slope
Where lies convince people how they should vote?
A third of the country are just really greedy
They don't care enough about all the needy
Some are quite smart, they see through the lies
But if the money keeps coming they won't criticise
The other No voters are a big concern
They don’t seem to want to grow and learn
Believe the lies, vote accordingly
That’s a real worry for democracy
Will we be ruled by a strong man in a few year’s time
Will protesting that ruler be a serious crime?
Is democracy something we'll have to say goodbye to?
Two thirds of the country are happy to be lied to.
While all the Yes voters are a rather mixed bunch
Some really rich, some can't afford lunch
They see through the lies and have empathy
But unfortunately they’re a minority.
Will we be ruled by a strong man in a few years time
Will protesting that ruler be a serious crime?
Is democracy a thing we'll have to say goodbye to?
Two thirds of the country are happy to be lied to.
Will we be ruled by a strong man in a few year’s time
Will protesting that ruler be a serious crime?
Is democracy a thing we'll have to say goodbye to?
Two thirds of the country are happy to be lied to.
